8,000 kilometers on the road, 6 events, 5 cities. At the “AI Meets Data Intelligence” roadshow 2026, Viamedici and its customers and partners no longer debated whether to adopt AI in product data management, but how, and the company unveiled new AI capabilities for EPIM.

Ettlingen, 21 July 2026. With roughly 8,000 kilometers driven, six events in five cities and numerous participating PIM and MDM experts, Viamedici’s “AI Meets Data Intelligence” roadshow 2026 has come to a close. Viamedici is one of the leading providers of enterprise solutions for Multi-Domain Master Data Management (MDM), Product Information Management (PIM), Digital Asset Management (DAM) and Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ). From Cologne through Hanover, Nuremberg and Munich to Stuttgart, where the tour stopped twice, one conclusion ran through every conversation: the question of whether companies should rely on artificial intelligence in product data maintenance no longer arises. What was discussed instead was how fast, how deep, and what stands in the way.

The real bottleneck: not the technology, but the foundation

The potential to automate manual data maintenance and raise efficiency at scale is, in the participants’ unanimous view, no longer theory but everyday practice. What actually holds companies back, based on the roadshow conversations, is rarely the technology itself. Governance, the AI readiness of a company’s own data and internal change management decide whether AI projects deliver impact or fizzle out.

One question came up at almost every stop: what does it actually cost to do nothing, to keep existing systems and processes running unchanged while the window for a competitive advantage keeps closing?

Hard numbers instead of future promises: what AI already delivers in EPIM today

Just how concrete the efficiency gains from AI already are became clear in the EPIM examples presented on the roadshow. Automated translation of product content into more than 50 languages, in a brand-compliant tone, cuts content creation time by 70 to 80 percent. AI-assisted guided selling also raises the quality of advice in sales.

At the various stops, Viamedici gave participants, some of them customers for 10 to 20 years, an outlook on the roadmap for EPIM as an AI-powered platform. The vision behind it: every user becomes a power user. Three capabilities take center stage:

  • Conversational Data Access: product data is queried in natural language, with no query syntax and no training effort.
  • AI Content at Scale: brand-compliant translation into more than 50 languages, with content creation time reduced by 70 to 80 percent.
  • Complete Data Trust: every record receives an automatically calculated quality score, AI proactively detects outliers and inconsistencies, and complete data lineage makes every change traceable.

Different focus at each stop, one common thread

At each roadshow stop, the emphasis shifted with the audience. In Munich, where Viamedici customers and partners gathered at the Rosewood Munich, the focus was as much on the internal hurdles of cloud migration and the cost of hesitation as on reducing manual effort in PIM when managing complex product data across international markets. In Stuttgart, the discussion turned to how companies can use their time more efficiently and let AI take on the operational heavy lifting, with clean, connected product data available where and when it is needed.

The common denominator across all cities: the conversations happened as equals, among customers and partners who in some cases have worked with Viamedici for many years, who speak openly about real challenges and want to work out concrete answers together.

A format that resonates, with a sequel in planning

The idea of coming directly into the regions to reach decision-makers with a compact, exclusive one-day event has proven its worth in Viamedici’s view. Given the consistently positive response at every stop, the company is already examining whether to continue the format in the coming years.
